Going to Drum Hill 1947 – First camp after the war

On September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland from the west; two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning World War II

Scouts at the Drum Hill camp with Baden Powell in the middle. Scouts from 63rd lined the route as Baden Powell arrived at the camp.

Approximately 1000 Scouts attended the camp.

Baden Powell received deeds of the land from Dr. H. H. Bemrose for Derby & Derbyshire Boyscouts Association.
